Introduction
With the growing adoption of endoscopic surgery in clinical settings-thanks to its clear visualization and minimally invasive nature-hemostasis during such procedures remains a persistent challenge. To address this issue, the Surgiclean® Hemostatic Applicator (TQ-4) was developed.
What is Surgiclean Hemostatic Applicator TQ-4
This device is composed of a Y-junction, a 2-meter catheter, two connecting pipes, and a 0.22μm air filter. Made from medical-grade polymer materials, it offers excellent biocompatibility and is sterilized using EO for safe clinical use.

Designed to work in conjunction with absorbable hemostatic microspheres, the TQ-4 applicator efficiently delivers them to bleeding sites during endoscopic procedures. It is especially effective when conventional methods like compression or bandaging are inadequate or impractical. The device ensures reliable hemostasis for capillaries, veins, and arteries, contributing to improved surgical outcomes.

Schematic diagrams of TQ-4 Applicator

For endoscopic / laparoscopic surgical procedures which spray MPH Absorbable Hemostatic Particles to control bleeding:
Instructions for Use: Surgiclean® Hemostatic Applicator (TQ-4)
Check Connections
Before starting the procedure, visually confirm that all Luer lock connections of the applicator are securely connected.
Attach Hemostatic Particles Bottle
Firmly insert the nozzle of the MPH Absorbable Hemostatic Particles bottle into Port A of the Y-junction (see Fig. 1).
Connect to Gas Source
Attach Connecting Pipe 2 to a gas source with a constant, controlled airflow. This prevents any fluid from flowing back into the catheter (see Fig. 2).
Insert the Catheter
Guide the catheter through the endoscope's working channel (see Fig. 3) and position the endoscope near the bleeding site. Ensure the catheter tip does not come into contact with fluids.
Administer the Hemostatic Powder
Set the gas source to a low airflow setting. Gently tilt the Y-junction and press the MPH bottle to deliver the powder to the bleeding site (see Fig. 4).
Important: Avoid fluid contact with the catheter tip. If contact occurs, remove the bottle while it remains compressed to reduce the risk of blockage.
Remove the Catheter
Once hemostasis is achieved, immediately withdraw the catheter from the endoscope.
Instructions for Lavage and Liquid Delivery Using Surgiclean® TQ-4 Applicator
For endoscopic or laparoscopic procedures requiring lavage or liquid spraying:
Attach the Liquid Dispenser
Insert the liquid drug delivery device, such as a syringe, into Port A of the Y-junction.
Insert the Catheter
Guide the catheter through the endoscope's working channel and position the tip at the intended treatment site.
Deliver the Liquid
Select an appropriate pressure setting and gently press the syringe plunger to deliver the liquid to the target site.
Withdraw the Catheter
After achieving the desired therapeutic effect, promptly remove the catheter from the endoscope.
Note:
The TQ-4 Applicator features a catheter with an outer diameter of 2.8 mm and an inner diameter of 1.4 mm. Ensure compatibility between the liquid or powder to be delivered and the endoscope's working channel.
