Oxidized Cellulose Dressing
Surgiclean® Absorbable Hemostatic Dressing is a highly effective adjunctive hemostatic device suitable for a wide range of surgical procedures. It efficiently controls bleeding from capillaries, veins, and small arteries, particularly in situations where conventional methods such as ligation are inadequate. As an auxiliary hemostatic agent, oxidized regenerated cellulose demonstrates outstanding performance in stopping bleeding that cannot be managed by traditional techniques.

Mechanism

Surgiclean® employs a dual mechanism of physical occlusion and chemical coagulation to achieve rapid hemostasis. By using oxidized regenerated cellulose, it promotes platelet aggregation and activates clotting factors, effectively managing bleeding from capillaries, veins, and small arteries that may not respond to conventional methods. This approach helps shorten surgical time and minimizes the risk of secondary bleeding.
Application
As an auxiliary hemostatic, Oxidized regenerated cellulose can be used in a variety of surgeries. The product demonstrates good effect in stopping capillary, venous or arterial bleeding beyond the control of traditional bleeding-stopping methods such as ligation.

Advantages

Method of Usage

For Open Surgery
Thoroughly clean the wound to fully expose the bleeding area.
Select a Surgiclean® Oxidized Cellulose Hemostatic Agent dressing of the appropriate thickness based on the bleeding site and intensity, then apply it directly to the area.
Gently press using gauze, a drying instrument, or the back of your hand until hemostasis is achieved.
Remove any Surgiclean® that is not saturated with blood to promote absorption and lower the risk of a foreign body reaction.
For Endoscopic Surgery
Trim Surgiclean® Oxidized Cellulose Hemostatic Agent to the suitable size for endoscopic insertion. Follow standard endoscopic protocols to position the hemostatic material, ensuring you grasp it by one corner.
Carefully advance the instrument along with Surgiclean® into the target cavity.
Use additional grasping instruments at auxiliary points to properly position or adjust the material as needed.

FAQ
Q: Can Surgiclean® completely replace traditional surgical hemostasis techniques?
Q: Are there compatibility restrictions when using Surgiclean® with other medical materials?
A: The following compatibility precautions must be observed:
Chemical cautery interference: Avoid sequential use if silver nitrate or similar escharotic agents have been applied.
pH compatibility: Due to its acidic nature, concurrent use with enzyme-based hemostatic agents is prohibited.
Blood recovery systems: Strictly contraindicated due to risks of filter blockage by product fragments, which may lead to vascular embolism.
Q: Does the product have international medical certification?
