The difference between hemostatic gauze and ordinary gauze

Leave a message

The difference between hemostatic gauze and ordinary gauze lies in different materials, functions and clinical applications.

1. Different materials

The main raw material of hemostatic gauze is natural cellulose, and the materials of ordinary gauze may include blended gauze, pure cellulose gauze and pure cotton gauze.

2. Different functions

Hemostatic gauze can usually react with fibrin and platelets in the body, and can quickly form a hemostatic mechanism at the bleeding site, which can play a role in rapid hemostasis and promote the rapid recovery of the wound surface. Ordinary gauze can only achieve the effect of hemostasis by compressing the wound.

3. Different clinical applications

Hemostatic gauze can not only bandage wounds, but also often be used in surgical operations to stop bleeding, such as orthopedic chest burns, neurosurgery, oral, anorectal, ENT, plastic surgery, gynecology and other operations. Ordinary gauze is often used to treat skin wounds and fractures.

Before using any gauze, the wound site needs to be disinfected to avoid wound infection.
