Surgiclean® Hemostatic Powders
Surgiclean® Hemostatic Powder is a plant-based, absorbable hemostatic agent derived from purified potato starch. It is manufactured through reverse micro-emulsification and crosslinking modification, forming a three-dimensional network structure with hydrophilic molecular sieve properties. Its surface is characterized by macropores, creating an effective molecular sieve capable of rapid fluid absorption.
The powder features a space-net microstructure, with particle sizes ranging from 30.8 to 97 μm, optimized for efficient hemostatic performance.
Sterilized using ethylene oxide (EO) as the terminal sterilization method, Surgiclean® ensures high microbiological safety.
Intended Use
Surgiclean® is indicated in surgical as an adjunctive hemostatic device to assist when control of capillary,venous, and arteriolar bleeding by pressure, ligature, and other conventional procedures is ineffective or impractical.

Method Of Usage
Apply a sufficient amount of Surgiclean to the bleeding site, completely covers the wound.
Use a gauze dressing or other equivalent to apply proper pressure to the wound and continue to pressurize for at least one minute.
If the wound continues to bleed or seep, repeat the procedure as described above until hemostasis is achieved.
For large area bleeding sites, continue to pressurize for 2-3mins.

The Most Common Reasons for Hemostasis Failure
Improper use
· Hemostatic powder does not touch the bleeding point.
·Dry gauze is not pressed or the pressing time is too short.
· When the dry gauze is not fully soaked and removed, the blood clot will be pulled down, causing the wound to bleed again.
Insufficient dosage
Adequate, rapid and correct application are the keys to successful hemostasis.
