Absorbable Hemostatic Agents

Surgiclean® Absorbable Hemostatic Agents are derived from purified potato starch and manufactured through advanced emulsification and crosslinking technologies. These particles exhibit hydrophilic molecular sieve properties, enabling them to rapidly absorb and retain multiple times their own weight in water, forming a gel-like matrix upon contact with blood.

Applied directly to surgical wound sites, Surgiclean® serves as an effective absorbable hemostat to control bleeding from capillaries, veins, and small arteries, particularly when conventional methods such as pressure or ligation are insufficient or impractical.

Surgiclean® Absorbable Hemostatic Agents offers rapid hemostasis-often within seconds-depending on the amount applied and the anatomical site being treated.

Leveraging a hydrophilic molecular sieve structure, the particles rapidly absorb plasma from blood upon contact. This action concentrates cellular components such as red blood cells and platelets on the particle surface, forming a viscous "gelled matrix" that acts as a mechanical barrier to effectively halt bleeding.

Simultaneously, the localized concentration of platelets, coagulation factors, and fibrin increases significantly, thereby activating and enhancing the body's natural coagulation cascade.

The clot and matrix co-form a stable hemostatic barrier, achieving rapid and reliable bleeding control-typically within just one minute.

Improper use

· Hemostatic powder does not touch the bleeding point.

·Dry gauze is not pressed or the pressing time is too short.

· When the dry gauze is not fully soaked and removed, the blood clot will be pulled down, causing the wound to bleed again.
