Absorbable Hemostatic Gauze

Surgiclean® Absorbable Hemostatic Gauze is made from regenerated cellulose, which undergoes oxidation and is woven into gauze. This material is fully degradable within the body, leaving no residual components, thus eliminating the need for a secondary procedure to remove it. As a result, patients are spared the discomfort of an additional operation.

The main component of the gauze is oxidized regenerated cellulose, which has a white to pale yellow appearance and a faint, caramel-like aroma. Surgiclean® Absorbable Hemostatic Gauze effectively promotes hemostasis when applied to wound surfaces, helping to control bleeding.

We supply various sizes and it can also be cut into different sizes by scissors to meet your need.

Mechanism

Surgiclean Absorbable oxidied Hemostatic gauze Introduction-01

Apply Surgiclean to bleeding areas

Absorb water from the blood, increase blood viscosity and slow blood flow

Combine with iron ions to form a brown colloid that seal the wound

Lower local pH, adsorb and aggregating platelets, activate platelets to form thrombus

Accelerate endogenous coagulation

Triple Hemostatic Mechanism: physiological mechanism, physical mechanism, chemical mechanism

Hemostasis completed

Method of Usage

absorbable-hemostatic-gauze

For Open Surgery

Clean the wound and fully expose the bleeding area.

Select an appropriate thickness of Surgiclean® based on the bleeding site and severity, then apply it directly to the affected area.

Apply gentle pressure using gauze, a drying instrument, or the back of the hand until hemostasis is achieved.

Remove any excess Surgiclean® Absorbable Hemostatic Gauze that is not saturated with blood to promote absorption and reduce the risk of foreign body reactions.

For Endoscopic Surgery

Cut Surgiclean® to the appropriate size for endoscopic placement. Follow standard endoscopic procedures to position the hemostatic material, ensuring you grasp it by one corner.

Carefully advance the grasping instrument along with the Surgiclean® into the target cavity.

Use additional grasping instruments at auxiliary sites to properly position and, if necessary, reposition the material for optimal placement.

FAQ

Q: Can Surgiclean® Absorbable Htheemostatic Gauze completely replace traditional surgical hemostasis techniques?

A: Surgiclean® absorbable hemostatic gauze is a highly effective hemostatic device that successfully controls bleeding in various surgical procedures. It is particularly well-suited for diffuse or complex bleeding and for situations where traditional suturing or electrocautery may be less effective. However, it is not intended to replace all existing hemostasis methods.

Q: Compatibility with Other Materials: Are there any restrictions when using other surgical instruments?

A: (1) Since product absorption may be hindered in areas treated with chemical cauterization, avoid using silver nitrate or other escharotic chemicals prior to application.

(2) Due to the product's low pH, it should not be mixed or used alongside enzyme-based hemostatic agents.

(3) The product must not be used with a blood recovery system, as fragments could pass through the filter and cause blockages in the system or within the patient's blood vessels.

(4) It should not be used in conjunction with methyl methacrylate adhesives for prosthetic orthopedic devices, as this may compromise the adhesive strength.

Q: What is Surgiclean absorbable hemostatic gauze's rate of absorption? Is it fully absorbed, and does it interfere with radiologic imaging?

A: Once implanted in vivo, the Surgiclean absorbable hemostatic gauze degrades and is absorbed within 14 days, essentially achieving complete degradation.

The Instructions for Use clearly state that "any excess should be removed after hemostasis is achieved to minimize the risk of foreign body reaction," ensuring that the product does not affect radiologic images.
