SurgiClean's Collagen Hemostat is a premium surgical hemostat agent designed to rapidly control bleeding. When applied to hemorrhaging wounds, this collagen-based hemostat triggers natural platelet aggregation, forming stable clots for effective surgical hemostasis.
Collagen Effects as hemostatic material
Surgiclean Collagen Hemostat is a biodegradable biomaterial extracted from bovine Achilles tendon, processed by freeze-drying into a white or light yellow sponge-like solid. Its main component is collagen. The inner packaging of this product adopts PETG blister pack, then sealed in an aluminum foil bag. The product has excellent water absorption, absorbing water up to 30 times its own weight. It is sterilized by radiation and intended for single use.
Due to its porous sponge structure, this product is conducive to absorbing the exudate of damaged tissue at the application site, keeping the wound clean and preventing external pollution. It also has a unique effect in promoting tissue regeneration and functional recovery, and is very beneficial for the healing and recovery of trauma after local hemostasis; it can be used for hemostasis in all surgical departments; it can be effectively degraded in the body and reabsorbed by the body.

Scope of Application
Used for hemostasis of non-pulsatile small arteries, small veins, and capillaries during abdominal surgery when pressure, ligation, electrocautery, or other conventional methods are ineffective.
Contraindicated for use in vascular, neurosurgical, ophthalmic, and urological surgeries;
Contraindicated in patients with a known allergy to bovine-derived materials or collagen products;
Restricted use in patients with autoimmune diseases;
Not suitable for patients with coagulation disorders;
Must not be used for active arterial bleeding;
Must not be used for hemostasis at infected sites;
Must not be used for postpartum hemorrhage or menorrhagia;
Must not be used for cavity-filling hemostasis;
Must not be used in combination with methyl methacrylate adhesives for prosthetic or orthopedic fixation, as the product may reduce adhesive strength;
It is not recommended to apply this product to skin incisions, as the physical properties of dried collagen may interfere with the healing and repair of skin and tissue at the incision edges.
Method for Usage
External Application on Body Surfaces:
When using this product on the body surface, routine disinfection of the wound or injured area should be performed first. Cut the product to an appropriate size, cover the wound with the rough side facing down, and secure it with medical gauze, cotton, or other dressings. When changing dressings or performing wound care, there is no need to remove the originally applied product; a new piece can be applied directly over the existing one.
Internal Use as Hemostatic Material:
When using this product internally as a hemostatic material, cut it into different sizes as needed. Cover the surgical wound with the rough side facing down and apply gentle pressure for 1–2 minutes to adhere it to the wound. If necessary, it can be sutured in place for additional fixation.
